The biggest challenge was its poor search engine structure, with multiple versions of the same pages being indexed—some appearing six or more times—causing ranking penalties. The site was also not fully mobile-friendly, forcing tablet and mobile users to navigate the desktop version, leading to frustration and lost sales.
Beyond SEO and mobile issues, their content management system (CMS) was struggling under the weight of thousands of products. The database relationships between brands, categories, and product variations were unstructured and inefficient, slowing down site performance. It was clear the old system was not scalable, making it difficult to manage inventory, update products, or expand the range efficiently.

Tackle UK needed a seamless transition to a faster, more scalable eCommerce platform without disrupting daily operations. To achieve this, we carefully replicated their dispatch and bulk product update processes, ensuring a smooth migration while maintaining business continuity.
We built the new site on our powerful eCommerce platform, integrating:
✔ Google Shopping feed for better visibility in search results
✔ A custom “Best Buy” feature to highlight top deals automatically
✔ Streamlined European order processing, allowing cross-border sales without added complexity
✔ Advanced stock control system, ensuring accurate inventory management across all sales channels
✔ Front-of-house touchscreen ordering system, making click-and-collect faster and more convenient for customers
To minimise downtime, we developed a custom data-transfer script, migrating thousands of products and customer data quickly and efficiently.
At the end of last year, Tackle UK upgraded to our latest platform, Kit 5, unlocking even more advanced features:
- One-click checkout, Apple Pay, and Google Pay for a frictionless buying experience
- Elasticsearch integration, vastly improving on-site search speed and accuracy
